Industrial K Type Thermocouple

The K Type Thermocouple provides the widest operating temperature range of any thermocouple type due to the use of traditional base metals. The positive leg of the thermocouple is made from a non-magnetic metal, while the negative leg is made from a magnetic metal, usually nickel. This allows the thermocouple to work at high temperatures and provides the widest operating temperature range.

The defining quality of K Type Thermocouple is that the output is distorted when magnetic material reaches its Curie Point, which is around 185 °C. K Type thermocouples work most effectively in oxidizing atmosphere at temperatures up to 1260°C (2300°F) and the tolerance class is ± 1.5 K between -40 and 375 °C.
